The Cinderella Body Club byJennifer Connor, Angela Ford, Sharon Kleve, & Amber Daulton

Blurbs:

The Cinderella Body Club is a new romance series of the timeless Cinderella story reimagined where four girlfriends make a wish on a locket. They all wish they were beautiful, and look like the girls they've always wanted to be—the belles of the ball.

Cinderella Had it Easy: Jennifer Conner

Cami works in the basement of a television station which airs history documentaries. With scars on her face that she acquired in a car accident as a child, Cami finds it easier to be by herself. She gets into a heated debate with the handsome new host of the show she'll be working on. Is Lance the knight in shining armor who can drag Cami out of her safe zone? With no carriage and no helpful mice, she has to rely on the magic from her grandmother's locket.

Cami only has twenty-four hours in her Cinderella body, what will she do with it? Will she keep hiding or can she learn how to live life?

Spellbound Cinderella: Angela Ford

Tess Andrews lacked self-confidence. She believed she was “Plain-Jane.” Her last date ended before it began when he asked if she'd set him up with one of her model clients. Tess owns a small employment agency. Some of her clients are models, which only make her insecurities worse. Internationally-famous model photographer, Parker Walsh, always leaves Tess speechless and in a rush to run and hide. She only does business with his assistant.

Her savior—Girls Night; once a week Tess gets together with her friends who are all in similar situations with no luck in love. One night they wish on a magical pendant to be that perfect girl they’d like to see in the mirror. They wake up in their “Cinderella Bodies”—sexy and better looking, but they only have until midnight to make the most of it. Her “Cinderella Body” boosts her confidence to invite Parker to lunch. He surprises her with an invite to his charity fashion show. Tess has everything for her magical night—her Prince, the dress, the shoes but she worries when the clock strikes twelve if he'll like the “real” her.

Second Chance Cinderella: Sharon Kleve

Raven St. James is a Phlebotomist in a prominent Portland, Oregon hospital. She is petite, with jet-back hair, green eyes, and extremely shy. She dreams of being like the nurses on the daytime hospital shows—perfect. Tall, blonde, blue eyed, with big breasts.

Dr. Quinn Taylor admires Raven's skill, and the caring she shows with her patients, but can't get her attention. Until the day she winks at him.
Raven only has twenty-four hours in her Cinderella body. What will she do with it? Will she become the confident, strong, flirty girl she wants to be? Will she get the guy she's always wanted? Dr. Quinn?

Cinderella's Enchanted Night: Amber Daulton

Annalise Gallagher wants Elijah Burleigh. Plain and simple. She's watched him from afar for months, and her friends call her “his own personal stalker.” Then she makes a wish on a magic pendant for a full-body makeover. Transformed into the gorgeous knockout she's always wanted to be, she asks Elijah out on a date and wears a haute couture gown straight from Paris to his friend's wedding.

With just twenty-four hours on the clock, her enchanted night fades into the morning hours and everything crashes down around her. Annalise harbors a shameful secret and Elijah demands the truth with the veil of magic gone.

The truth, however, could destroy her fragile confidence and push him away forever.

About the Authors:

Jennifer Connor: Jennifer Conner is a best-selling Northwest author who has over sixty short stories and books in ebook, print, and audiobooks. She lives in a hundred year old house that she grew up in. Her semi-small town holds an interesting mix of resident hillbillies, yuppies and Navy Seals.

Angela Ford: Angela Ford originates from Nova Scotia—“Canada’s Ocean Playground.” Her love of the ocean and sunsets are always in her heart and give her inspiration. Her love for words keeps her turning the page. She is never without a book, whether she’s reading or writing. Now residing in Ontario, Angela works in Finance—numbers by daywords by night.

Sharon Kleve: Sharon Kleve was born and raised in Washington and currently lives on the Olympic Peninsula with her husband. She’s a multi-published author of paranormal and contemporary romance. When not writing, she can usually be found either curled up in her recliner with her cat and a good book, or in the kitchen baking sourdough bread or bagels.

Amber Daulton: Her mind is a wonderland of romance and adventure, laughter and awesome ways of kicking a guy when he's down. She reads, writes and enjoys contemporary, paranormal and historical novels alike. Writing takes up most of her time, when not at her “tedious day job in the retail industry.” She states, “I probably wouldn't be too sane without my computer and notebooks. After all, what's a girl to do when there are people jabbering away in her head and it's hard to shut them up? Write! Nothing else works.”

Review by Rochelle:

The Cinderella Body Club was a collection of delightful romantic romps with well-drawn characters and a page-burning pace. It’s difficult to review these stories without spoilers. I think I’ll just say buy and read The Cinderella Body Club. It’ll make you feel good.

Three Wrongs by Charles Bowie

Blurb:

Sean Donovan is doing all right; he has two offshore bank accounts and an American one as well and all three are filling up nicely. His network of clients know his business plan: he is willing to acquire whatever rare or inaccessible product is needed, be it the security plans to an art gallery, a rare Etruscan goblet or a recorded conversation from a former American President. And he will steal it and deliver it to them, no questions asked nor answered.

But he is becoming dissatisfied. In addition to the physical wear and tear inflicted on his body by adversaries, he is now becoming weary of the toll his newly-discovered conscience is exacting from these highly illegal exploits. A series of lies to his most recent client has caused him to think about the impact of his deeds and he doesn’t like how it makes him feel. An idea begins to form; what if he was to undo his last three wrongs? And what if he nevertheless wants to benefit from turning over this new leaf?

This story follows Sean Donovan as he travels from Bucharest to London to Montreal and New York. Will he repent his wicked ways? Will he quit the business before those who he has wronged catch up to him? Will he discover that three wrongs don’t make a right?

Review by Rochelle Weber:

Sean Donovan is the best at what he does—theft for hire—when he has all the facts in the case, when he is not mistaken for someone else, and when it’s not personal. In his latest cases, everything is awry. Thugs keep getting in his way. When he tries to stop them from killing a gypsy boy in Bucharest, he finds himself in possession of a bag of stolen passports, one of which puts him onto the radar of yet another bad guy. His next job is to steal the lucky necklace belonging to an actress. His client is a spoiled brat of a teenaged starlet; the victim is a beautiful, smart, funny, nice woman who only removes her lucky pearls at bedtime.

I received an Advanced Review Copy that had not been fully edited, so I can’t comment on the few editorial glitches I found. I’m sure they’ll have been caught when Mr. Bowie went through the galleys. What I can say is that Three Wrongs grabbed me at the beginning and kept me burning through my Kindle right to the end. Despite his chosen profession, I like Sean Donovan. Retired spies have a very specific set of skills and there aren’t too many things they can do with them. Donovan chose a lucrative and (mostly) safe profession. In many instances, he replaces what he stole with duplicates so the owners won’t even know their property is gone. I look forward to reading the second book in this series, AMACAT. Meanwhile, I highly recommend Three Wrongs.

Buy Links:

You’ll notice we always include the publisher’s buy link. That’s because authors usually receive 40% of the book price from the publisher. Editors and cover artists usually receive about 5%. When you buy a book from Amazon, Barnes & Noble or another third-party vendor, they take a hefty cut and the author, editors and cover artists receive their royalties from what is left. So, if a book costs $5.99 at E-BookPublisher.com and you buy from there, the author will receive about $2.40. If you buy the book at Amazon, the author will receive about $0.83.

Downloading the file from your computer to your e-reader is as easy as transferring any file from your computer to a USB flash drive. Plug the larger USB end of your chord into a USB port on your computer and simply move the file from your “Downloads” box to your E-Reader/Documents/Books directory. You can download your books onto your computer using “Save As” to a “Books” file you create and sort them into sub-folders by genre, author, or however you wish before transferring them to your e-reader. That way, if there’s a glitch with your e-reader, the books are on your computer. And, your author will be happy you did when he/she sees his/her royalty statement.

Imposters of Patriotism by Ted Richardson

Blurb:

Savannah, Georgia antiques store owner Matt Hawkins discovers a two-hundred-year-old journal containing a stunning accusation. The journal claims that America’s most revered hero, George Washington, wrote a secret surrender letter to the British during the Revolutionary War—a seditious act that would have ended America’s fight for independence.

Meanwhile, the present-day race for president of the United States is a dead heat. The Republican nominee, a direct descendant of Washington’s family, has shamelessly exploited his ties to the Founding Father—a strategy that has worked brilliantly to eliminate a once-wide gap in the polls. As the past collides with the present, Hawkins and lovely historian Sarah Gordon are determined to unearth the truth about the journal’s remarkable claim. But they must avoid a shadowy adversary who has a billion dollars riding on the election’s outcome—and who will stop at nothing to ensure that Washington’s surrender letter remains a secret.

Review by Rochelle Weber:

Imposters of Patriotism had a good plot and well-drawn characters. It was engaging and kept me turning the pages, but I had issues with the editing. The book came with the caveat that it was an Advanced Reading Copy and had not gone through the final galley edits, but the issues I found were things that should be addressed in the content editing rounds. I noticed it was self-published when I went to the book’s Amazon page to get the buy-link, so maybe Mr. Richardson is not familiar with content edits.

When a book is released through a publisher, it goes through three types of editing—content editing, line or copy editing, and galley edits. In content editing, we address issues such as info drops (show; don’t tell); head-hopping (changing point-of-view in the middle of a scene); use of passive verbs instead of active (had been done instead of doing); general wordiness; overuse of dialog tags and certain words and phrases such as “that,” “began to,” etc. The second type of editing, line or copy editing, is straight spelling and grammar. By the time a book gets to galley edits, it should be pristine and all that should be left is the occasional typo.

Imposters of Patriotism was rife with head-hops, it was wordy, and had some superfluous dialog tags as well as uses of the word “that.” It could have been tightened by a good content editor. Still, it was a good, entertaining read. I definitely recommend it.
